Practices/Companies must lower their operating costs and increase productivity just to survive in today's market place. Fifteen years ago we saw the beginning of computerisation in design offices. Most realised that using CAD and word processing would improve productivity and over a period of a few years drawing boards and type writers were replaced. Documents can be created in a fraction of the time using Archetype's intelligent document production. ARCHETYPE simplifies the production of architectural documents and minimises the user input. The user simply fills in a form (often selecting from appropriate lists). Project information such as project numbers, titles, locations, addresses, document references, etc. are automatically filled in. This approach provides greater productivity, enables relatively inexperienced users to produce their own documents, and ensures consistent house styles and accuracy of the information. Users do not need to know about templates, unique document references, filenames or directories.
