| Using a range of other Systems |
Using Archetype |
| These systems are independent and will not work together and will
not share information. So information such as your project numbers
and details, your contact and e-mail details, your staff and filing
systems, etc. will all need to be entered and managed separately.
This often requires duplication of work to keep all the systems up
to date and means that finding all the information you need can be
laborious and time consuming. |
You have one system to address all your needs. Data only needs to
be entered once and it is available to all the modules. So, for example,
once you have entered the client's, contractor's or consultants' details
in the contacts manager you never type those details again, ever.
You can send them e-mails or letters, issue drawings, instructions
and certificates to them, track responsibility for snagging items
or technical queries (requests for information), manage incoming documents,
etc. and Archetype ties it all together. |
| Often the systems are not designed specifically for your type of
work, just check the range of disciplines that it is sold into. This
means that it might nearly do everything you need but not all and
it may do many things that you do not need. This makes it poor choice
because it isn't a complete solution and is probably complex and difficult
to use. |
Archetype has been developed specifically for the design office,
it knows what you need to do and automates many of the tasks. In this
way Archetype introduces better organisation of information and maintains
procedures and at the same time increases productivity. When you use
Archetype you have less to do. |
| You will have a range of systems to manage each requiring your staff
to know how they work, how data can be backed up and archived. Members
of staff need to be trained on a range of different software and new
staff members need a lot of introduction to all the systems. |
It is easy to use because all the different modules work in similar
ways and when you have used one of them the others can be quickly
picked up as you need to use them.
There is only one call necessary for any installation, training and
support issues and only one upgrade periodically for a new version.
|
| You will have spent far more by buying a range of systems than by
purchasing a single system that does it all. And each system will
have upgrades, maintenance and possibly support costs. It all mounts
up. |
Archetype is affordable and provides a rapid return on your investment
